FULLERTON – A man pushing a wheelchair was struck by a car and fatally injured in Fullerton, police said Monday.
The victim was hit about 6:40 p.m. Sunday in the area of South Gilbert Street and West Orangethorpe Avenue.
“Fire Department personnel provided medical aid and transported him to a nearby hospital, said Fullerton Police Department spokeswoman Kristi Wells. “Sadly, his condition later declined, and he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.”
The driver of the white Toyota Prius that hit the man remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
According to Wells, the investigation revealed the Prius was southbound on Gilbert Street and making a westbound turn onto Orangethorpe Avenue and struck a pedestrian who was pushing a wheelchair north in a marked crosswalk on
