ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Domestic Violence Database says every single minute, nearly 20 people in the U.S. are physically abused by an intimate partner.

“We are seeing a lot of stalking, strangulation, assault and battery,” said Robin Jackson with the Albemarle County Police Department's Victim Witness Assistance Program.
