FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — Blendon Township police officer Connor Grubb was placed back on paid administrative leave Monday after township trustees held a special meeting on his status.

The decision comes three days after a jury acquitted Grubb of murder in the August 2023 shooting death of Ta’Kiya Young.

During the meeting, trustees went into executive session for about 20 minutes before returning and voting unanimously to move Grubb to paid administrative leave.

Police Chief John Belford had asked trustees to take up the issue.

“This was a tragic event. We intentionally refrained from making any detailed statements about Officer Grubb’s actions so as not to interfere with the legal process. We stand by our decision to place Officer Grubb on administrative leave," Belford said.
