German actor and Blood for Dracula and Flesh for Frankenstein actor Udo Kier has sadly passed away at the age of 81.

His partner, artist Delbert McBride , confirmed his death to Variety , but the cause has not been revealed.

Udo was in more than 200 films throughout his career but most well known for his collaborations with Andy Warhol , who produced Blood for Dracula and Flesh for Frankenstein .

He also frequently collaborated with Lars von Trier , appearing in his projects like The Kingdom , Breaking the Waves , Melancholia , Dogville , and Nymphomaniac: Vol. II .

Udo has been in more mainstream films as well, such as Armageddon , Ace Ventura: Pet Detective , and Blade , plus several Madonna music videos.
