Coronation Street viewers said the same thing after another episode which proved to be a difficult watch. Todd (Gareth Pierce) and Theo (James Cartwright) have taken centre stage in recent months as part of a powerful storyline. The two actors have been tackling the issue of domestic abuse in a same-sex relationship.

The episode opened with Todd in physical pain following a run with Theo. He was furious when his partner revealed to the rest of their friends Rovers that he had signed them both up to run a half-marathon, without consoling him first.

When Todd accused Theo of rail-roading him into doing the half-marathon, Theo told him that it’s for his own good and they’ll be going for another run later as part of their training.
