GREAT BEND, Kan. (KWCH) - A woman has been arrested in Great Bend after hitting a police officer with her car.
Great Bend police say they were called to the Salvation Army on Nov. 18 to remove a woman from the store. The business said she was being disruptive.
Officers found 49-year-old Leslie Dewitt at the store. She left, but came back later. An officer approached her car to try and arrest her.
Dewitt put her car in reverse and hit the officer, briefly pulling him alongside the car. Police say she drove away, but officers were able to catch her. They say she kicked, spit and tried to bite the officers.
Dewitt was arrested on multiple charges, including aggravated battery on an officer, felony interference and possession of drugs.
