A man is being held on a $1.5 million bond after a traffic stop turned to a major drug bust in Madison County on Monday.
According to the Madison County Sheriff's Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of Oakwood Avenue and Blue Spring Road in Huntsville on Monday. Deputies say information obtained during the traffic stop led to detectives to execute a search warrant for a hotel room on the 2200 block of North Memorial Parkway.
Deputies say they found multiple illegal narcotics, a stolen firearm, and evidence consistent with drug distribution.
Robert Gene Carroll, 49, was arrested and charged with the following:
Drug trafficking - 32.6 grams of fentanyl
Possession with intent to distribute - 16.3 grams of cocaine
Possession of a controlled substance - 6.5 grams of meth
