A South Huntsville landlord is urging the Huntsville Housing Authority to renovate or sell three buildings he says have been abandoned for years and are hurting the neighborhood.
Mike DeCecco, who lives in San Jose, California, has owned and managed properties in Huntsville for about 15 years. He said three units in the Mahogany Row neighborhood have remained boarded up and deteriorating.
“When I have vacancies and a prospective tenant drives down the street to look at my building, they have to drive by these other three buildings that are boarded up and in terrible disrepair,” DeCecco said.
