OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) - First impressions are a big deal, and during State Representative Hank Zuber’s town hall meeting, two new sculptures were unveiled, bringing a welcoming display to Ocean Springs.
The city partnered with the Walter Anderson Museum of Art to add two new gateway sculptures near the Biloxi Bay Bridge and the Mark M. Seymour Sr. Memorial Bridge, also known as the Fort Bayou Bridge, coming into the city.
One sculpture features the Shearwater Pottery logo as it approaches a decade of business in the city, while the other showcases a pelican and the ascendency of the city as it continues to grow.
Museum officials say the displays offer a creative welcome to the city while also incorporating the ideas of the great Walter Anderson.
