A winter storm watch was issued by the National Weather Service on Tuesday at 12:54 a.m. valid from Thursday 1 a.m. until Saturday 1 a.m. for Southeastern St. Lawrence.

The weather service says, "Heavy lake effect snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 10 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph."

"Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are possible and may make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact holiday commuters," adds the weather service. "Monitor the latest forecasts for updates on this situation.
