Early forecasts indicate that snow during the Christmas period appears unlikely across the UK, according to the Met Office.
Despite snowfall blanketing vast areas of the nation last week, reaching as far south as London and the Home Counties, temperatures are finally anticipated to rise to typical late November levels and ward off further wintry conditions - though this comes at the cost of periods of torrential rainfall.
Yet following the recent cold spell, the likelihood of a White Christmas has dramatically decreased.
Last week, William Hill offered odds of 6/5 for snow to fall in Aberdeen on December 25, with 6/4 chances for both Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Manchester was given 4/1 odds
