Police Recover Multiple Weapons From the Unit Where the Gunfire Originated

On Sunday, a young girl was injured when a bullet fired inside a neighboring Del Rey apartment tore through a shared wall and struck her, as reported by multiple news outlets.

The shooting took place in the early afternoon at a complex on Slauson Avenue, where investigators say a resident discharged a firearm inside their own unit. The round traveled into the adjacent apartment, grazing the back of the 8-year-old’s head, while she was inside with her family watching television.

Paramedics took the child to a hospital, and officials said she is expected to make a full recovery. Members of the local Del Rey community council offered the child’s family support with food and housing.
