An accident on the M20 this morning (Tuesday) between a car and a lorry has closed the motorway westbound. The crash is towards Leeds Castle in the westbound direction and there is traffic queueing for a mile.
It was partially blocked earlier but at just before 9am, has shut westbound. There are currently queues of four miles. The incident is between Junction 9 and Junction 8. Traffic monitoring site Inrix said at 8.08am: "M20 Westbound partially blocked, queueing traffic for one mile due to accident from J9 A20 Fougeres Way (Ashford) to J8 A20 Ashford Road (Leeds Castle/Maidstone Services)."
Earlier reports of a vehicle off the road into the bushes, 10 miles after J9, are a separate incident. It is not yet known how many vehicles have been involved or if any injuries have been reporte
