They call it the "eighth wonder of the world" on the menu, so of course I had high hopes for the 9-ounce meatball on top of fettuccine with two kinds of sauce that is served at the shiny new Big Rock Italian Chophouse in Birmingham.
With its softball-sized meatball made of tender, braised veal, house-made noodles, tangy and fresh marinara and creamy Alfredo, it kind of looks like a regal eagle's nest. The impressive, yet familiar dish exemplifies the balance of fun and luxury you'll find at the renovated destination.
