The New York Jets are a bad football team, but if you squint you can see they are making some progress turning things around. They appear to have two very young, better than average offensive tackles to build an offensive line around for years to come. John Metchie is starting to look like he can be a part of a much-improved wide receiver room, and it’s possible the toolsy Adonai Mitchell could develop as well. Jowon Briggs is looking like a great pickup for almost nothing. It’s just the very beginning, and there’s a very long way to go, but eight picks in the first two rounds over the next two drafts have the potential to be transformative for this team.
