OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. (WMC/WLBT) - The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Desoto County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.
According to Department of Public Safety Spokeswoman Bailey Martin, the incident happened at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Miller Farms Road in Olive Branch, Mississippi.
Deputies were responding to a domestic disturbance call at a residence when the suspect pointed a gun at the deputies.
The deputies then shot their weapons, hitting the suspect.
A brief standoff ensued before the suspect surrendered with no further incident.
The subject received non-life-threatening injuries.
No deputies were physically injured during the incident, according to Martin.
