The National Canal Museum in Easton has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Julius & Katheryn Hommer Foundation Fund to support its general operations, marking a significant increase in funding from the longtime supporter.
The grant represents a $30,000 increase over the museum’s typical funding request from the foundation. The money will help sustain educational programming and preservation efforts at the museum, which serves as a signature program of the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor.
The foundation had paused its giving in 2024 during a reorganization period, making the renewed and expanded commitment particularly significant for the museum’s operations.
