PEPPERELL, Mass. —
Nearly every home and business in Pepperell, Massachusetts, lost power Tuesday morning.
Nearly 5,000 customers, approximately 95% of the town, lost power, according to the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency's power outage map .
A National Grid spokesperson said the problem was related to a transmission line somewhere between Pepperell and Ayer. They said crews were being dispatched to look for the problem and make repairs.
The outage could last for several hours, National Grid said.
The fire department posted a reminder to residents: "Please only use 911 to report emergencies."
