OLIVE BRANCH — The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is looking into a line of duty shooting involving the DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office that occurred around 8:15 p.m. Wednesday on Miller Farms Road in Olive Branch.

Deputies were responding to a domestic disturbance when a subject pointed a weapon in their direction, officials said. Deputies fired, striking the individual, and a brief standoff followed before the subject surrendered without further incident.

The person sustained non-life-threatening injuries. No deputies were injured.
