Ward, the longtime Pittsburgh receiver, is one of 26 semifinalists for the Class of 2026 in the modern-era players category. This is his 10th time as a Hall of Fame semifinalist.
Ward faces some stiff competition again this year. The list of semifinalists includes wide receivers Reggie Wayne, Torry Holt, Steve Smith Sr. and Larry Fitzgerald, the former Pitt star who is in his first year of eligibility. Fitzgerald ranks second all-time in the NFL for career receptions and yards by a receiver.
