Police are investigating after a popular singer was killed in an “ambush-style shooting” in California.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department 22-year-old Maria de la Rosa died after multiple rounds were shot into a vehicle as it was parked on Bryant Street east of Tampa Avenue in Northridge at 1:25 a.m. on Nov. 22.

Witnesses described seeing two male suspects approach a vehicle, but a motive for the shooting is unclear and no arrests have been made.

According to the Los Angeles Times , De la Rosa released her first song, “No me llames” (“Don’t Call Me”) under the name DELAROSA in August.

She appears to have significant regional influence on her Instagram account , which has more than 40,000 followers.
