WEST UNION, W.Va. — The truck driver convicted and sentenced in a fatal crash on the Cheat Lake is now in the custody of United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
According to online records, Sukhjinder Singh remains in the North Central Regional Jail and is now listed as “in ICE custody.”
Singh pleaded guilty in October to vehicular homicide and was sentenced to the maximum one year in jail. He was driving a tractor-trailer recklessly on I-68 eastbound during a snowstorm last January when his tractor trailer pushed a car driven by Pennsylvania resident Kevin Lataille over the side of the bridge into the icy lake.
Lataille’s body and car were recovered from the lake a week after the collision.
