OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Garbage won’t be picked up in Omaha on Thursday due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Public Works Department and its waste contractor, FCC Environmental Services, will have the day off in observation of the holiday.

According to a release, collections normally scheduled for Thursdays will be picked up Friday, and Friday’s on Saturday. Carts and yard waste bags are to be put out for collection no later than 6 a.m. on the collection day.

FCC is set to then resume its regularly-scheduled pickup routes Monday.

The City of Omaha reminds the public that next week is the final week for free fall yard waste collection .
