OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Creighton Volleyball’s Ava Martin was named player of the week by the American Volleyball Coaches Association .

Martin was recognized by the AVCA after being named MVP of the BIG EAST Tournament on Sunday.

The outside hitter averaged 6.83 kills per set on .438 hitting with 11 digs and three blocks.

Martin put up 24 kills and hit .432 in the semifinal against Marquette, and 17 kills on .444 hitting against Xavier in the final.

Her 24 kills in a game and 41 overall kills are both Creighton records in the BIG EAST Tournament.
