LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - As Michiganders prepare to head out for their Thanksgiving holiday travels, a dose of winter weather is headed our way.
Much of the state is expected to see temperatures dip into the 30s, accompanied by strong winds with sustained winds of 15-25 MPH and gusts of up to 40 MPH possible.
With that strong wind, Consumers Energy is preparing for the worst, with officials on Tuesday telling customers that crews “will be ready to work throughout the holiday to restore power as safely and quickly as possible.”
“Our line workers and other field crews are standing by to be deployed into impacted communities, and we’re gathering trucks and essential materials to assist with any restoration efforts,” Consumers officials said in a press release.
