TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas — A boil water notice is in effect for all customers using the West Travis County Public Utility Agency (WTCPUA) Public Water System, the company announced on Tuesday.
According to the Bee Cave-based company, the filtered water's turbidity levels are currently higher than the limit set in Texas and nationwide. High turbidity levels could increase the likelihood of sickness, as it could become harder to kill organisms. The company's filters could also be underperforming based on the current status.
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) ordered the boil water notice as a precaution, and it's unclear exactly when it will be lifted. The WTCPUA has submitted water samples for testing and expects results back on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
