MERCER ISLAND, Wash. — What started as a simple idea — and a single email — has taken Mercer Island High School sophomore Max Pelter further than he ever expected.
“I just sent an email, and I mean this has taken me far,” Pelter said.
Pelter wanted to create a weekly broadcast segment dedicated to his favorite hockey team.
“I’ve always been a super massive sports fan, and my interest just kind of skyrocketed after the Kraken came,” he said.
Pelter’s journey started long before he became a student at Mercer Island High School. As a seventh grader, he reached out to the school’s broadcasting program asking if he could produce his own Kraken updates. Four years later, he’s now known around campus as “Kraken Max.”
