MEC sports: Fairmont State supplies league-high three athlete of the week honorees

BRIDGEPORT – Three Mountain East Conference schools combined to produce seven of the eight conference athlete of the week honors for this week.

Fairmont State led the way, with three – Leslie Huffman (co-women’s basketball player of the week), Josh Woyan (co-wrestler of the week) and Delaney Householder (women’s swimmer of the week).

Householder claimed that distinction for the third time in nine weeks to begin the season. No one else has done it twice.

Other schools’ honorees are as follows:

Concord – Kraig Gilbert (co-men's basketball); Abbie Smith (co-women's basketball)

Davis & Elkins – Jan Spehar (men’s swimming)

Frostburg State – Mike Montano (co-men's basketball); Tanner Halling (co-wrestler)
