Delaware's first-year governor is already looking at ways to improve the performance of state government.

The Government Efficiency and Accountability Review Board (GEAR) is out with its 9th annual report. The GEAR review process was established by Executive Order in early 2017 to develop recommendations for increasing efficiency and effectiveness across government, improving strategic planning and making extensive use of metrics.

According to Governor Matt Meyer, this year the board recommended continued advancement in employee training programs, continuing reforms in DelDOT, the Department of Natural Resources and Office of Management and Budget to reduce turnaround times, and bringing more digital services to Delawareans so they can access state services any time on any device.
