Police are conducting a homicide investigation in Fall River after a man was killed in a shooting on Saturday afternoon, according to officials.

Around 4:30 p.m., police responded to the area of 1331 Pleasant St., the address for Leonard’s Package Store, for a report of men fighting, according to a statement released by the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.

Upon arrival, police found 31-year-old Taiquan Teixeira of Fall River unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Teixeira was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead later on Saturday evening, according to the statement.

The statement did not specify if any arrests were made.

Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the homicide.
