PHILADELPHIA − Eagles rookie safety Drew Mukuba suffered a broken ankle late in the team's 24-21 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Nov. 23.
The NFL Network was the first to report the news. Mukuba will likely have surgery to repair the fracture, the report added.
Eagles coach Nick Sirianni confirmed the report, but wouldn’t put a timetable on Mukuba’s return. He did say “he’s going to miss some time.”
The prognosis from the NFL Network report is that Mukuba’s injury might not be season ending, although it will certainly lead to a stint on injured reserve, meaning that he'll have to miss at least four games.
Mukuba was the Eagles' second-round pick last spring, and became a starter at safety in Week 1. Buy Philadelphia Eagles tickets
