LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) — Officials with a non-profit in Lake City put food on people’s plates in time for Thanksgiving.

Leaders with the North Star Family Resource Center hosted a food bag giveaway on Tuesday, where about 150 families signed up to receive their bags throughout the day. The group also focuses on providing other resources to families in need.

“To keep families together and to keep kids from going into the system. It’s really a prevention model. We work to help families all types of families,” said Philip Mobley, manager of North Star Family Resource Center.
