AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Equine Disease Communication Center has just confirmed a case of EHV-1 virus in Randall County .

This case is associated with the EHM outbreak that originated at the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association World Finals and Elite Barrel Race event in Waco. This outbreak was reported by Texas veterinarians Nov. 5.

Signs to look out for in horses are fever, nasal discharge, coughing and neurological issues.

This is an aggressive strain of EHV-1.
