AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) -City officials are selecting one of three finalists to lead the Amarillo Police Department after an extensive national search that emphasized public feedback.

The finalists are Thomas Hover, Jimmy Johnson and Greg Stevens.

The candidates were selected after a national search led by Public Sector Search & Consulting, the only recruiting firm in the United States that focuses solely on police executive recruitment.

City leaders adopted a search process that included public feedback and input on the attributes the Amarillo community values in its chief of police.

The City Council identified and approved Public Sector Search & Consulting in July. The council appointed an interim police chief in March.
