Whether Springdale is the home of a massive data center is now up to its borough council.
Residents, however, are pushing back with concerns over noise, pollution and aesthetic damage to a neighborhood they said they value for its peace and quiet.
“My fiance and I chose Springdale because we believe this place to be prime real estate for young families looking for a nice, quiet, safe community — to not only just live in, grow, raise children — just be a part of something that’s greater,” said resident James Binnix during public comment Monday night. “But I did not sign up for an opportunity zone for big tech and slum lords.”
