Pirates offseason storylines have been hard to miss.
The idea they’re serious about spending money and making an aggressive push to add offense. An erroneous and irresponsible report out of New Jersey that said Paul Skenes was unhappy in Pittsburgh and eyeing the Yankees. Non-tenders, Rule 5 protection and other roster machinations unique to this time of year.
But much more quietly, there’s been change afoot on manager Don Kelly’s staff, specifically the addition of pitching coach Bill Murphy, bench coach Kristopher Negron and third-base coach Tony Beasley.
The Post-Gazette broke the news of all three hires. Appearing at the #BurghProud Thanksgiving food distribution event outside of PNC Park on Tuesday, Kelly addressed them for the first time.
