Four Pittsburgh-area school districts are claiming they should not pay tuition for students attending Commonwealth Charter Academy because the cyber school does not provide a quality education as required by the state constitution.
The claim was made in a lawsuit filed in Commonwealth Court Tuesday by the Indiana Area School District in Indiana County, Leechburg Area in Armstrong and Westmoreland, Ligonier Valley in Westmoreland and Pittsburgh Public Schools in Allegheny.
The lawsuit is against Commonwealth Charter Academy and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
