ROCKFORD, Ill. — The name of the man who died after being struck by a vehicle on Monday has been released.

The man was identified as 63-year-old Clark Robinson of Rockford.

An investigation revealed that at around 5 a.m. on Monday, Robinson was walking in the 4800 block of E. State Street when he was hit by a vehicle.

Rockford Police and Rockford Fire responded to the scene. The driver of the vehicle also stayed at the area.

First responders started giving Robinson treatment, and he was brought via ambulance to a local hospital.

Despite life-saving efforts, Robinson was pronounced dead at 5:40 a.m.

An autopsy done on Tuesday showed that Robinson died from blunt chest trauma from the collision with the vehicle.
