BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Philanthropist Lois McClure, who passed away in January , left a final gift of $20 million to expand education and training pathways to Vermont manufacturing jobs.
The McClure Foundation is known for producing Vermont’s most promising job resource with the Department of Labor and its free degree program. The donation continues McClure’s decades-long mission to support young people and drive workforce development.
“The cornerstone of a bright future is an education and a career pathway, and Lois and Mac McClure knew that from the start, and while they didn’t always know how the McClure foundation would evolve, they did know that education was a cornerstone,” said Stacie Fagan with the Vermont Community Foundation.
