An election protest hearing is scheduled for Dec. 2 after a candidate for the Godwin Board of Commissioners alleged the town clerk interfered with the election.
Angie Amaro, director of the Cumberland County Board of Elections, announced in a news release Nov. 25 that candidate Dennis C. Smith filed a protest, "citing a violation of election law, irregularity, or misconduct wherein casting doubt on the results of the election."
