BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — After eliminating three employee positions earlier this year, the Wood County District Public Library board of trustees is giving raises to their employees as part of the 2026 budget.
Library director Michael Penrod says the board approved a total 2.8% wage increase for their 39 employees across their two locations, the Bowling Green branch and the Walbridge branch, plus the bookmobile.
President of the board of trustees Ken Frisch says the money for these raises was taken from the salaries of the three positions eliminated due to state cuts.
Frisch says the library staff is vital to keeping the library open seven days a week.
