Portland should prepare for a soggy and windy next couple of days.
A warm frontal system is bringing widespread rain to northwest Oregon and southwest Washington through Thursday. Precipitation will be most intense Tuesday evening and overnight, with rainfall expected to shift southward by Wednesday morning. Surface winds could reach 30 mph, particularly along the coast.
Rain will continue Wednesday and Thursday, with potential for 0.3 to 0.75 inches in the northern Willamette Valley and southwest Washington lowlands on Thanksgiving. The Coast Range and coastal areas may see up to 1.25 inches of precipitation. Snow levels will remain high at 6,000 to 8,500 feet, minimizing travel concerns in the Cascade passes.
The weekend should trend drier, with cooling temperatures expected. By Monda
