KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A teenage girl was hit by a vehicle crossing the street on Buffat Mill Road on Tuesday evening, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

KPD said a 13-year-old girl was crossing the street on Buffat Mill Road east of Prosser Road, with the vehicle staying on scene after the incident. She was sent to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

"The involved vehicle remained on scene, and it appears that the driver simply did not see the girl due to the dark road," KPD said.
