ELLSWORTH, Maine (WABI) - Two people were arrested on drug charges in Ellsworth Sunday after officers responded to a report of suspicious activity.

According to the Ellsworth Police Department, officers investigated a local short-term rental facility and found 35-year-old Alyssa Powell, a transient, and 55-year-old Darrell Thurston of Trenton had nearly 110 grams of suspected fentanyl and over 85 grams of suspected crack cocaine.

Police say Powell had three warrants out for her arrest for not appearing in court.

Officers arrested Powell for the outstanding warrants and also on charges of drug trafficking and violations of conditions of release.

Thurston was arrested and charged with aggravated drug trafficking.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges may be pending.
