HOLYOKE ― Holyoke Community College will receive a part of a $4.1 million state initiative to help adults train for jobs in health care and other high-demand fields, the Healey administration announced Monday.

The state awarded the money to 12 adult education programs to help about 700 adults enroll in college or train for high-demand jobs, inlcuding medical interpreters, nursing assistant positions and community health care workers, according to statement from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

“Adult education students are some of the hardest-working people in Massachusetts, and this initiative is designed to help improve the programs that serve them,” said Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll in a statement.
