Manchester City's confidence would have been dealt another blow after their reverse to Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League . City were beaten 2-0 in the league phase fixture at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.

Alejandro Grimaldo and Patrik Schick scored the goals for the Bundesliga side against City to hand Pep Guardiola's star-studded squad another disappointing defeat.

City were also beaten 2-1 by Newcastle United in the Premier League over the weekend, as they now go into their next match against Leeds United on the back of consecutive defeats.

Despite the disappointment of the back-to-back losses, City will still have hope that they can catch Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
