After a period of copious clouds in our atmosphere, expect to see increased clearing as we continue to push through the overnight hours. This lack of cloud cover will allow for radiational cooling, a process in which, due to a lack of clouds, heat is encouraged to escape the surface, dropping temperatures significantly.
Speaking of cooler weather, below average temperatures dominate our short and long term forecasts after a powerful cold front makes its way through the area, even as we look into next week (average temperatures ranging in the 50’s). Expect low temperatures to plummet into the lower 20’s as we make our way into the weekend (average low temperature: 33F).
Whether or not you’ve seen the movie Frozen, be sure that you grab your winter coat, gloves, and hat as you head out
