Part of a busy motorway is closed this morning following a horror pile-up involving a lorry.
The HGV crossed over from the eastbound carriageway to the westbound carriageway of the M54 following the impact near junction two for Wolverhampton, West Midlands. The westbound side is shut from junction two to junction three for Albrighton, Shropshire. Lane two (of two) lanes are also closed on the eastbound carriageway due to extensive barrier damage.
Westbound traffic is being sent off at Wolverhampton and diverted through north to the A5, west along the A5 and back onto the motorway via the A41. It means traffic is congested along these roads in parts of Gailey, Staffordshire and Weston-under-Lizard in the same county.
