A man from North Adams confessed to physically assaulting his two parents, pouring gasoline on the first floor of the home, and setting it ablaze, according to officials in Berkshire County.
Darius Hazard, 44, of 77 Francis Street, faces charges of arson and murder linked to a fire that killed his parents in the early morning hours on Monday.
Venture Hazard, 76, and Donald Hazard, 83, died as a result of the fire, officials said.
Darius Hazard was arraigned Tuesday on the arson charge; he is scheduled to appear in Northern Berkshire District Court for the murder charges on Wednesday.
