JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The Chautauqua County District Attorney has announced that they will not be pressing charges for an incident that resulted in a man's death in 2024.

According to Chautauqua County DA Jason Schmidt, after an investigation into the possible homicide of 25-year-old Corey Newman, no charges will be filed.

The original incident occurred on August 16, 2024, and involved a dispute between Newman and another man that escalated and resulted in Newman suffering a gunshot to the head. Newman passed days later after being transported to UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
